Homemade Cleaner

I was tired of paying the price of all purpose cleaners and more so, tired of the full face headache the scent was giving me. I started off just mixing white vinegar, water, and a splash of dawn dish soap but then I discovered orange peels! Now I look forward to wiping down the counters, mopping the floors, cleaning the cabinets, spraying the delicious and refreshing scent of orange knowing my house will be clean and smell fresh.

You can make as much or as little as you would like. You just need orange peels, vinegar, and a glass jar.

I took one gallon of vinegar and filled 4 separate 1/2 gallon mason jars.

Start off by slicing and juicing your oranges to get a clean peal.

Fill a mason jar with the the peels. You can fill it as much or as little as you want. I love the citrus smell, so I fill my jars all the way up with peels. Add vinegar and put the lid on.

Set it on your counter for 4-6 weeks to infuse.

1 month later..... (the longer you wait, the darker the color becomes)

Gather a clean mason jar, funnel with strainer, and a spray bottle.

Strain into a clean jar to store.

Fill a spray bottle half way with the infused vinegar.

Fill the rest with water.

You now have orange infused vinegar, All Purpose Cleaner.

I was able to turn 1 gallon of vinegar into 2 gallons of All Purpose Cleaner for an economical household spray cleaner.

The uses are endless. We use it on our counters, sinks, appliances, the mess in the microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator (inside and out), the floors, windows, bathrooms, bedroom furniture, anything that collects dust or dirt. You can add some baking soda and scrub your tubs if you need more abrasion.

I hope you enjoy all the uses of your new fresh, homemade cleaner.
